Strider has been one of the best pitchers in all of baseball as a rookie, with an 11-5 record, 2.67 ERA, along with 202 strikeouts. Strider started the season in Atlanta’s bullpen, before he joined the starting rotation at the end of May.

A former Clemson Tiger, Strider, was named National League Rookie of the Month for July. He also set the franchise record for strikeouts in the team’s 3-0 win over the Colorado Rockies on Sep. 1.
Strider will remain on the disabled list until Oct. 6, meaning he won’t be eligible to return until the postseason. It remains to be seen if Strider will be healthy by then, but if he’s not, it would be a huge blow to the Braves’ chances to repeat as World Series champions.
