JACKSONVILLE, FL — It’s arguably one of college football’s biggest rivalries and like most every year it is played, Georgia vs. Florida will again be front and center on the college football landscape.
The game, formerly known as the “World’s Largest Cocktail Party” will kick off at 3:30 p.m. in front of a small, pandemic-restricted crowd in Jacksonville.

The two SEC East rivals have faced each other 97 or 98 times, depending on which school you follow. According to both universities, the Bulldogs lead the series with 50-plus wins, including the last three games.
Right now, the Bulldogs are 4-1 this season but undefeated in the east with the Gators right behind them at 3-1 with one SEC loss.
Should Georgia win, they’d be in the driver’s seat to win the east and a potential rematch with Alabama. A loss would put them a game behind Florida and the Bulldogs would need the Gators to lose twice in order to recapture the SEC East.

Coming into the game, the story for Georgia has been great defense and inconsistency on offense. The defense will be without one of their leaders, Richard LeCounte, who is still recovering from a dirt-bike injury this past weekend.
Several other key defensive players are banged up and may or may not be able to play after last weekend’s 14-3 win over Kentucky.
For Florida, the story has been the offense as QB Kyle Trask has had a big season, throwing for 18 touchdowns with only two interceptions in the four games his team has played.
The Gators took down Missouri last weekend, 41-17. But a halftime scuffle led to ejections for players on both teams. Florida defensive lineman Zach Carter and linebacker Antwuan Powell will be suspended for the first half against Georgia.
Channel 2′s Alison Mastrangelo will have all the highlights and reaction from the game after Saturday’s college football action comes to a close.
