Wilderness at the Smokies offers NASCAR package

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. — If you are off to the races in late August, the Bristol Motor Speedway and the Wilderness at the Smokies waterpark resort in Sevierville, Tenn., have teamed up to make the NASCAR racing experience easier, more fun and with no traffic worries.

A “Splash & Race Weekend” travel package for the IRWIN Tools Night Race in Bristol on August 24 has been coordinated by the two attractions to allow race fans a fun, affordable and hassle-free option to enjoy the Bristol race weekend.  The travel package includes overnight accommodations on Saturday, August 24 at the Wilderness at the Smokies resort (for up to four people), two race tickets in the Waltrip Section GG at Bristol Motor Speedway (located in Turn 3), and roundtrip transportation via motorcoach for two people from the Wilderness resort to the Bristol race for $460 plus applicable taxes.

Race fans and waterpark enthusiasts can add extra nights at the Wilderness resort for reduced rates, as well as adding race tickets for Bristol’s Wednesday, August 21 UNOH 200/TITAN Roof 150 Camping World Truck Series/Whelen Modified Series doubleheader or the Friday, August 23 Food City 250 Nationwide Series race.  Other add-on fun can include a round of golf at Wilderness and area attractions tickets like the Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge and the Ripley’s Aquarium in Gatlinburg.  Additional nights come with special perks like free track tour passes at Bristol for Saturday night.

Additional Saturday race tickets and bus transportation for that event may be added to the overall package.

“We know that when people plan a getaway, they want it to be easy, and for race lovers, this package offers a great option to bring the entire family here to Wilderness at the Smokies for a great price,” said Steve Cruz, the Wilderness resort’s General Manager.  “This offers options for couples and families who may want to do different things – everyone in the family can go to the race together, or some can go to the race and others may choose to stay and play in the resort’s indoor and outdoor waterparks, then go shopping or enjoy our area’s attractions.  It’s a win-win way to make sure everyone in the family is doing what they like doing best, including a big win at the Bristol race!”

“Our fans have asked for a wider array of lodging and entertainment options, and Wilderness at the Smokies and the Smoky Mountain region give our fans just that,” said Logan McCabe, Vice President of the Consumer Group at Bristol Motor Speedway.

“We are extremely excited about the partnership and hope our fans and Wilderness’ loyal customers will enjoy this affordable and entertaining package. There is nothing like the IRWIN Tools Night Race at Bristol, and this package will make the weekend one they will truly never forget.”
