RICHMOND, Va. — Atlanta native Quanis Phillips, who pleaded guilty and was imprisoned for being part of the Michael Vick dogfighting ring, could be going back to prison.
Federal records obtained by Channel 2's Scott MacFarlane show Phillips violated conditions of his federal parole by testing positive for marijuana and lying to a probation officer.
Phillips, who was shot in the leg after a birthday bash for Vick at a Virginia Beach nightclub in June, is accused of telling his probation officer that he did not speak with the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback that night. No arrests were made in the shooting of Phillips, which occurred after Vick had left the party.
His probation officer said in court papers that Phillips failed to report run-ins with police, blew off a required mental health appointment and recently tested positive for marijuana use.

Federal judge Henry Hudson ordered Phillips to return to jail until a hearing on March 28. Phillips could be sent back to prison at that time.
Phillips, a childhood friend of Vick's, played an active role in the dogfighting operation, which was found to have tortured, beaten and executed animals.
In November 2007, Phillips was sentenced to 21 months in prison and three years of probation for participating in Vick's "Bad Newz Kennels" operation. Phillips was released from federal prison in February 2009.
Vick, pleaded guilty in 2007 to dogfighting conspiracy, served 18 months of a 23-month sentence in prison and an additional two months on home confinement before resuming his NFL career.
