COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A semitruck trying to cross railroad tracks got stuck on a steep crossing in downtown Austell on Thursday morning.
Police called shipping company Norfolk Southern to stop an approaching freight train.
They were able to stop the train about a quarter-of-a-mile down the tracks on Spring Street. The train was delayed while a wrecker came to pull the semi off the crossing.
The driver was charged with several traffic charges, including ignoring the warning signs. Under a stop sign by the tracks, there is a traffic sign with an image of a semitruck stuck on the tracks.
