UNION SPRINGS, Ala. — An Alabama man was fatally shot Thursday because he was crossing the street too slowly, police said.
Union Spring police said Johnarian Travez Allen, 29, was shot eight times around 7:45 p.m. by Jermiah Wesley Penn, WSFA reported.
Penn, 22, confronted Allen who was crossing the street to get to a store for food. Penn got out of his car, fired multiple shots at Allen and then fled the area. He later turned himself in to a friend who is a sheriff’s deputy, WSFA reported.
Penn was arrested and charged with capital murder, according to police.
