BRUNSWICK, Ga. — Breonna Taylor, the Louisville EMT who was shot and killed by police in her home in March, would have celebrated her 27th birthday on Friday.
Wanda Cooper-Jones is the mother of Ahmaud Arbery and knows how difficult the day must have been for Taylor’s mother Tamika Palmer.
She recorded a supportive message for Palmer that the Arbery family shared with ABC News and its affiliate WHAS-11 in Louisville.
“Today was your baby’s birthday. I know days are difficult but this day in particular is very difficult. Because Ahmaud’s birthday was back on May 8," she said.
Cooper-Jones said there’s no words of comfort that she can share mother to mother. But she wants Palmer to know she is there to listen.
“What I can share is to let you know that you have always been in my prayers and also to let you know if there’s anything you may need and I can assist please feel free to reach out to me,” Cooper-Jones said. “If it’s just a listening ear and someone to talk to who can relate to your pain, I’m here.”
“Lastly I want to say happy happy heavenly birthday to Miss Breonna. Miss Taylor, she was such a beautiful child.”
