COLWELL, Iowa — Six people were injured Tuesday when an Amish buggy was struck by a pickup truck in northeastern Iowa, authorities said.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, Jim Whitmarsh, 66, of Charles City, was traveling eastbound in a 1998 Chevrolet pickup when his truck collided with the rear of the eastbound buggy, The Courier of Waterloo and Cedar Falls reported.
The impact of the crash caused all six occupants of the buggy to be ejected from the vehicle, the newspaper reported.

Among the injured are Lavern Stauffer, 32, Teresa Stauffer, 27, and four children under the age of 6, KCCI-TV reported.
Lavern Stauffer was driving the buggy, according to WHO-TV.
The extent of the injuries suffered by the people inside the buggy was not released, The Courier reported. Whitmarsh was not injured.
An investigation is ongoing, state troopers said.
