Bonnaroo is a four-day festival with about 85,000 attendees many of whom camp on the 700-acre site as musicians perform on myriad stages.
The National Weather Service was tracking an isolated lightning storm system that was traveling through northern Coffee County, Tennessee, according to The Tennessean.
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis finished "Same Love" when the evacuation was ordered.
"We will resume," Macklemore said, according to The Tennessean. "It's going to pass. We love you guys."

The shows were expected to resume at 10:15 p.m. Officials were working to accommodate to the changes and ensure the performers play their full set.
"We are adjusting the schedule and will resume programming once the weather is clear, Bonnaroo tweeted. "Please be patient and we'll keep you posted."
