Three teenagers were among four people killed Thursday afternoon in a northwest Georgia wreck involving a pickup truck and a riding lawnmower.
The wreck happened on Old CCC Camp Road in Murray County, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
Investigators said a Nissan Titan pickup truck was traveling at a high rate of speed when the 17-year-old driver lost control in a curve.
The truck overturned on top of Bryan Bartley, who was mowing his lawn.
GSP spokeswoman Franka Young said Bartley, 57, was killed, along with the pickup driver, River Sosebee, and backseat passengers Joshua Roberts, 17, and Chelsie Hullender, 18.
A third teenage passenger in the truck was airlifted to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. That person’s name and condition were not available early Friday.
Georgia State Patrol Corporal Jack Lawrence told WTVC in Chattanooga that all of the teens are students. Classes in Murray County are set to begin next week.
"It's one of the worst scenes I've seen -- I've been doing this 17 years and this is about as bad as it gets," Lawrence said.
Young said all of those killed were from Chatsworth.
