Teen Accused Of Killing Grandmother: 'I Am Innocent'

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga.,None — A teenager accused of killing his grandmother spoke exclusively to Channel 2 Action News investigative reporter Mark Winne.

Dominique Stuckey proclaimed his innocence during the interview.

"I am innocent, and this is not all totally my fault," Dominique Stuckey told Winne.

The chief investigator for the Douglas County District Attorney said he believes the 17-year-old had help.

Investigator Scott Cosper said authorities have the gas can and lighter that Dominique Stuckey used to set fire to his unconscious grandmother, Velma Stuckey. Investigators said an accomplice may still be out there.

Winne asked, "Will your family eventually find out what happened?"

"Um, …yes. I think they will eventually find out the truth," said Stuckey.

One of Velma Stuckey's sons, Karl Monroe, said the family remains hopeful that justice will prevail.

"We're all clinging together in faith and just trusting in God," Monroe said.

Sheriff Phil Miller said the evidence is solid.
