Suspected Drunk Driver Waves Hello To Police

ROSWELL, Ga. — A suspected drunk driver who led police on a chase through North Fulton County may be in a lot of trouble, but that isn't interfering with his manners, investigators said.

Roswell police Capt. Donald Moss told Channel 2 Action News reporter Darren Lyn that the driver actually waved at police while making a U-turn in an attempt to evade them. Investigators said police spotted the driver weaving in and out at about 3 a.m. Tuesday on Highway 92.

Police identified the driver as Samuel Creel of Marietta.

Moss said Creel kept going, even though two officers trailed his vehicle with sirens and flashing lights.

Investigators said the slow speed, eight-mile chase reached speeds of only 35 mph. Police used spike strips to eventually stop the vehicle.

Moss said Creel was arrested at the scene and taken to an area hospital for minor injuries and blood alcohol testing.

Creel is charged with DUI and evading police.
