ATLANTA — In his last major announcement as Georgia's chief executive, Gov. Sonny Perdue announced that new jobs would be coming to metro Atlanta.
Channel 2's Jim Strickland went to the state Capitol Thursday, where Perdue made the announcement at 10:30 a.m.
The governor said that German conglomerate ThyssenKrupp plans to invest millions into Alpharetta. The company is North America's largest elevator maker, which is already headquartered in Alpharetta. Perdue said the ThyssenKrupp computer hub will also come to Alpharetta, bringing 110 jobs to the area.
"Our companies here have found a home and are thriving as a result of this state's business environment," Perdue said.
