'Soccer-Mom'-Like Burglar Sought By Sheriff

HALL COUNTY, Ga. — Sheriff's deputies from Gwinnett and Hall Counties are looking for a female burglar. They said she's hitting homes and sporting a look that blends right into the neighborhood.

"I would agree with that. She could fall into the soccer mom category," said Colonel Jeff Strickland with the Hall County Sheriff's Office.

Channel 2 Action News reporter Reggie Aqui spoke with one Flowery Branch resident whose surveillance system caught the burglar breaking into his house.

"I'd say she hit the one blue moon chance of hitting the wrong house," said Kevin Olson, who installs security systems for a living.

Olson caught the soccer-mom-like burglar on five of his eight home security cameras. Olson wasn't home July 16 when the burglary happened, but his custom security system was on, alerting him on his smart phone.

"So I could actually track her movements through the house and she was in there for about 60 seconds," said Olson.

So far, the Hall County Sheriff's Office said the woman has about $1,000 worth of goods, including firearms and electronics.

Police said the woman was driving a gold or beige Toyota Camry or Corolla. The one thing that the cameras didn't catch was a good look at the license plate. Olson is determined not to let another burglary happen again. He has installed camera number nine, aimed at cars coming in and out of the neighborhood.
