• Smyrna fire chief no longer employed with department

    SMYRNA, Ga. - Smyrna city leaders confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that the city's fire chief, is no longer chief.

    Officials would not get into details, but said Chief Paige Day is no longer in the top position.

    They call it a personnel matter.

    Day was the city's first female fire chief.          

    City leaders say deputy fire chief Roy Acree is now the acting chief.
