ATLANTA — Nominations were announced Tuesday for the 2010 Shuler Hensley Awards. Shuler Hensley, a native of Marietta, is a Tony Award-winning actor.
Hensley is currently performing in the Broadway production of Young Frankenstein, playing the role of Frankenstein's monster.
The Shuler Hensley Awards recognize metro Atlanta students for excellence in high school musical theatre.
Nominations include the following categories: overall production, choreography, direction, leading actor/actress, musical direction, scenic design and supporting actor/actress.
The event will feature numbers from the nominated shows, as well as award presentations for the winners.
The awards will be given out next month at the Cobb Energy Centre and will be broadcast on WSB-TV Channel 2 on June 26, 8 p.m. -10 p.m.
