ATLANTA, Ga. — A bank robbery suspect was shot and killed Wednesday after he robbed a Wells Fargo bank in Sandy Springs, police said.

The robbery occurred at about noon at the Wells Fargo bank in the 5500 block of New Northside Drive near Powers Ferry Road.
Sandy Springs police said the robber fled the scene in a beige-colored Chevrolet Impala, but Atlanta police spotted the vehicle and followed it to Buckhead near the intersection of Lindbergh and Adina, where the shooting took place.
Investigators said the perpetrator was shot by Atlanta police.
The victim's name has not been released.
