ATLANTA — Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane was arrested after a fight on Thursday, according to the Atlanta Police Department.
Gucci Mane, whose real name is Radric Davis, was speeding down Northside Drive in a white Hummer around 11:30 a.m., Atlanta police Sgt. Curtis Davenport said in a news release. The 30-year-old rapper violated several traffic laws before parking at a business along the road, Davenport said.
When police arrived at the business, Davis was arguing with someone, Davenport said. He said officers told the two to back away from each other, but Davis assaulted the other person. An officer then pepper sprayed the rapper, Davenport said.
Davis was arrested and transported to the Grady Detention Center for treatment. He faces several charges including obstruction to officers, driving on the wrong side of the road and interference with government property.
He was being held at the Fulton County Jail.
