ATLANTA,None — An Atlanta doctor involved in a legal dispute over a lease was evicted from a medical building in northeast Atlanta.Office supplies and examination tables were rolled away from the office of Dr. Celio Burrowes on Thursday as a Fulton County marshall served the order.
Burrowes worked out of the medical office building on Boulevard belonging to Atlanta Medical Center, across the street from the hospital."We were up there in the doctor's office, and I heard that his stuff was ordered to be put on the side of the road," said Lawanda Nelson, who came to the doctor's office for an appointment.

Atlanta Medical Center issued a statement regarding the eviction saying in part, "[The doctor] has been aware of the need to secure other office space for nearly two years and has declined to do so. We regret that we now must seek legal intervention to have him vacate the office space."
But Burrowes’ attorney, Thomas Martin, said the eviction was uncalled for. He said there was a dispute over square footage on the lease, but that Burrowes had been paying a base rate amount each month and was trying to work things out and find new office space.
"For the hospital to risk patient care is what the issue is about," Martin said. "It's totally unnecessary."
Atlanta Medical said patient care was not compromised by the eviction and that the doctor had time to notify patients.
Martin said they were trying to appeal a judge's order on the matter.
n the meantime, Nelson said she would help her doctor. She asked her brother to rent a U-Haul truck to load the office and medical supplies so they could be put in storage while the doctor works to find new office space.
