Police: Man stole water from fire hydrant to fill pool

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga.,None — A man accused of using a fire hydrant to fill a swimming pool at his Gwinnett County home was arrested, police said.

It happened Wednesday at a home on Mint Julep Court in Lawrenceville.

According to a police report obtained by Channel 2’s Kerry Kavanaugh, a neighbor called police after noticing a hose connected to an adapter on the hydrant.

When officers arrived, they found 5,000 gallons of water in the pool, the police report stated.

The suspect, Richard Isaac, told police that filling the pool on his own was too expensive, according to the report.

Isaac was charged with unlawful use of a hydrant and theft by taking.

He posted a $1,500 bond and was released the same day.
