SNELLVILLE, Ga.,None — Police are looking for suspects involved in a Monday morning smash-and-grab burglary at a Best Buy store.
Snellville police said the crew was in and out in less than two minutes, after driving a pick-up truck through the rear entrance, just after 3 a.m.
Store surveillance caught the dark grey truck ramming through the door before five masked thieves stole bag loads of electronics from the Snellville location on Scenic Hwy. Channel 2's Kerry Kavanaugh spoke with investigators, who believe the truck is a Dodge or a Ford.
Police said the burglars wore black masks, yellow gloves and carried large black bags. Within seconds, they were seen swiping several digital cameras and video cameras. Police also reported that laptops and computer tablets were stolen.
Kavanaugh sat down with Snellville police detective Jim McDonald, who said the thieves had a plan.
"They were very organized. Very methodical. (They) knew exactly what they were looking for," said McDonald, noting the suspects made off with high-dollar merchandise.
Police said they arrived within a minute of receiving the call, but there was a delay because the alarm triggered a call to the security company first.
Channel 2 Action News was there as investigators maneuvered around the dangling garage door searching for clues. Best Buy is still trying to determine exactly what was stolen and how much was lost.
Anyone with information is being asked to call the Snellville Police Department.
