Police: 10 people involved in liquor store robbery

ATLANTA,None — Atlanta police said 10 people were involved in the robbery and break-in of a downtown Atlanta liquor store early Wednesday morning.

Officials said 10 people in three different vehicles pulled up to a corner liquor store on Peachtree Street near Baker Street at about 3 a.m.

The three drivers stayed in the vehicles while seven other people smashed in the door of the store and robbed it of liquor, police said.

Officials said a patrol officer showed up moments later and the 10 people in the three cars took off in three different directions.

The officer was able to stop one vehicle that had four people inside, arresting two people. The other two people fled on foot, police said.

“There were things knocked to the floor, but as far as damage itself the items that were taken were boxed liquor items, just something they could grab real quick and get back out of the store with,” said Capt. Van Hobbs of the Atlanta Police Department.

Police said the store did have surveillance video.

Police continue to search for the eight other people involved.
