Would-be thieves crash into Metro PCS store with stolen U-Haul

ATLANTA — Three thieves ran off empty-handed after crashing a stolen U-Haul into a cellphone store.

Atlanta police said the attempted smash-and-grab happened at the Metro PCS store on Bolton Road and James Jackson Parkway around 6:45 a.m.

Police said two men and a woman in the U-Haul panicked when they saw an employee from a nearby convenience store step outside to see what happened, and they ran off.

No merchandise was stolen from the store.

The truck was stolen from a U-Haul facility on Northside Drive, police said.
