CLARKE COUNTY, Ga. — A man is facing felony charges in connection to a fatal fire at a Athens motel.
The fire happened at about 1 a.m. Monday at America's Best Inn on Atlanta Highway.
Athens-Clarke County investigators arrested the man who was staying in the room with the woman who died in the fire. Investigators said Richard Ashley McGaha started the fire and charged him with second degree criminal damage to property.
Authorities have not released the victim's identity.
