Thieves hit Nike outlet store in Woodstock

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — Burglars smashed into a store at the popular new outlet shops in Cherokee County.

Woodstock police say they responded to an alarm call at 1:15 a.m. They found broken glass outside the store.

Authorities said the robbers broke into the store by smashing a window out. The broken window faces the pedestrian walkway down the main corridor of the outlet mall.

Detectives took away bags and boxes of evidence from the Nike store.

Channel 2's Steve Gehlbach saw at least one rack of clothes tossed over.

The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta have been open for about a year and a half off Interstate 575.

The Nike outlet store is second largest store in the complex.
