These are the most popular baby names for boys in Georgia

ATLANTA — The Social Security Administration released its annual list of most popular baby boy names on Friday. The list can be filtered state-by-state and there were no changes for Georgia at the top of the list.

For the second year in a row, Noah was the No. 1 most popular name for boys born in Georgia last year. The name jumped to the No. 1 spot for 2021.

The Social Security Administration releases an annual list that tracks baby names given to boys and girls in every state, with names dating to 1880. The data is based on applications for Social Security cards and the data has been released every year since 1997.

Here are the top 20 boy names for Georgia.

  3. Williams- 495
  4. Elijah- 464
  5. James- 429
  6. Oliver- 391
  7. Henry- 340 (tied for 7th)
  8. John- 340 (tied for 7th)
  9. Samuel- 349
  10. Asher- 308
  11. Mason- 295
  12. Lucas- 286
  13. Michael- 281
  14. Levi- 280
  15. Benjamin- 269
  16. Aiden- 268
  17. Grayson- 267
  18. Josiah- 266
  19. Daniel- 262 (tied)
  20. Mateo- 262 (tied)
