The coolest things to do with kids at SunTrust Park

Conversation we are going to be having with our kids in the future:

Us: "Ready to go see a Braves game at SunTrust Park today?"

Kid: "You mean that zip-lining place?"

Us: ...

The new home of the Braves, SunTrust park, certainly boasts a lot of bells and whistles for grown-ups: Those cushy, front-row seats with seat-side touchpad menus; three posh, field-level private lounges; a bevy of themed clubhouses with everything from on-field dining to a treehouse.

But tucked in one corner of the giant adult playground is one seriously cool kid magnet. And yes, it does have a legitimately hair-raising zip line.

When SunTrust Park opened for a Braves vs. New York Yankees exhibition game March 31, it became the only professional sporting venue in the country to feature not only a zip line, but a climbing tower -- among the usual batting cages and carnival games.

And the dedicated children's area isn't the only place in the park that will appeal to your kiddo companions. Below, six ways the teen-and-under set can get the most out of the SunTrust Park experience (that adults will probably dig too):

1. Burn off energy at at "Hope and Will's Sandlot" (Left Field Concourse)

The park has partnered with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta to build this baseball-themed amusement park with games, kid-friendly eats and the zip line (see above) and climbing wall attractions. Word to the wise: You have to book a time slot for the climbing wall and zip line in advance on the Braves app.

2. Get in the Braves spirit (Concourse)

There are tons of activities for children in the main concourse. Get in the Braves spirit with face-painting and merch and boogie down with the Braves drumline in the Battery pre-game. Check out Braves memorabilia in the Monument Garden. Snap some pictures at one of many photo-ops or high-five a mascot!

3. Get a custom-made jersey (Concourse near first base)

This deserves a breakout of its own: In the concourse near the first base line, you can get a custom-made Braves jersey, right on the spot. Something tells us this will appeal to more than just the youngest fans.

4. Watch from the Dugout (Below the Chop, right field)

Kids can feel like they are part of the team at Below the Chop, a dugout-style, field-level dining area under the Coors Light Chop House in right field. If sitting feet away from an outfielder isn't cool enough, if you get there early, sometimes players may slip a ball or two between the fence during warm-up.

5. Game while you game (Xfinity Rooftop)

Kids can burn off some of that extra energy with cornhole, ping-pong and foosball games high above the field at the Xfinity Rooftop. Pro Tip: You'll also find the park's only Waffle House on this level.

For superfans younger than 14, there's the Braves Kids Club. For $25 a season, kids get perks including a Dansby Swanson jersey, front-of-the-line access to Kids Run the Bases on most Sundays, 2 passes to VIP batting practice, ticket offers and the chance to win prizes at games.
