SOUTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — A restaurant in a metro Atlanta bowling alley was ordered to close unless it passes a health inspection.
Citizens Lanes in Union City failed two back-to-back inspections this month.
When a restaurant fails an inspection in Georgia, it is re-inspected within 10 business days. The majority of restaurants fix the violations and then pass.
In this case, Citizens Lanes failed again. The restaurant got a score of 51 on March 10 and a 63 on March 22. %

Lonnie Hill, who bowls there with his wife, says he eats the food there quite often. He told Channel 2’s Carol Sbarge he’s never had any problems. His wife, Henrietta, says the salads are always crispy and green.
During the March 22 inspection, the inspector observed spoiled brown celery in the cooler.
Other violations included no soap at the hand washing sink at the front food and concession area.
The inspector also saw soiled wiping cloths throughout the bar area and heavy debris on equipment, walk-in cooler and concession area.
The management had no comment about the violations or failing scores.
The same restaurant also failed in June of last year with a score of 68.
After the recent failure, Citizens Lanes got a legal notice to cease and desist conducting food vending.
We’ll let you know what the score is when they get re-inspected this month or in early April.
