EAST POINT, Ga. — East Point police said two of their officers were injured during a fight with a suspect.
It happened at the post office along East Point Street Thursday around 3:15 p.m. Officers said they were called out there in reference to a possible fraud suspect.
Police said they started talking to the man when they notice a handgun in his waistband. That’s when investigators said the man became combative.

During a scuffle with the man, he and the two officers ended up going through a plate-glass window in the lobby of the post office.
The officers were sent to a nearby hospital to get treatment for lacerations they received from the glass.
The suspect was able to get away.
