Some metro residents to wake up to temps in the 30s

ATLANTA — Get ready for the coolest air in months.

A cold front is bringing temperatures you haven't felt since May.

Severe Weather Team 2 is tracking the cool-down on the Channel 2 Action News Nightbeat at 11 and on Channel 2 Action News This Morning starting at 4:30 a.m.

When you wake up Tuesday morning, most areas will be in the 40s but some areas in the mountain could be in the upper 30s.

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologists Brad Nitz said  there wll be wind gusts of up to 30 mph.

"The last time Atlanta was in the 40s was on May 6th," Nitz said.

Sunshine and above-average temperatures in the 70s return by the end of the week.
