• Snow falls in N. Georgia before sunny afternoon


    RABUN COUNTY, Ga. - Snow and sleet fell in north Georgia Tuesday morning as rain fell in most of metro Atlanta.

    Channel 2 Action News viewers in Rabun and White counties sent in photos of the snow accumulations they woke up to early Tuesday. Viewers also reported snow in Ellijay in Gilmer County and in Habersham County.
    On Facebook, viewers warned of snow and ice on Burnt Mountain way and Georgia 52 near Ellijay.

    Towns County schools were delayed by two hours, and Union County schools by three hours.

    The rain in metro Atlanta ended by lunchtime. Severe Weather Team 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said sunny skies are on the way until another batch of rain on Friday.
