SEBASTIAN, Fla. — A man from metro Atlanta died in a skydiving accident when police said he tried to avoid another skydiver.
The accident happened Monday around 10 a.m. in Sebastian, Florida.
The Sebastian Police Department said they received a call about a skydiver who made a hard landing at Sebastian Municipal Airport.

Emergency crews took the man to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police identified the man as 49-year-old Christian Stevens, of Canton.
Investigators have said at this time it appeared that Stevens tried to avoid another skydiver when he landed at a high speed.
Police said that Stevens was a skydiving instructor who had 20 years of skydiving experience. Sebastian police and the FAA are still investigating.
