SOUTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Several metro Atlanta law enforcement agencies are now working together to see if a crew of armed burglars is targeting their neighborhoods.
Ten months ago, Darryl Gill's Tyewood Lane home in East Point was burglarized so he installed home surveillance cameras and bought iron doors. It didn't deter armed men.
The second time, the burglars stole a television, laptop and several other items.
"That's what they do. This is a game to them. They're not going to realize how serious it is until one of them gets killed," Gill said.
Gill showed Channel 2's Liz Artz where the burglars entered the house. Video reveals exactly how it was done.
East Point police are now working with Union City detectives. Investigators think the same armed burglars seen in Gill's home later broke into a Union City home.
Union City police arrested a juvenile in that break-in, but they're still searching for the other two suspects.
Police are investigating whether the same group also broke into a home in Peachtree City.
Gill says these guys know they have 5-10 minutes to get in and get out before police arrive.
Gill believes the crew of burglars eventually will break into the wrong house at the wrong time.
"You're kicking in my front door or my back door, I'm going to shoot at you," Gill said.
