ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. — A man is alive after Rockdale County deputies worked to save his life during a medical emergency.
On May 14, authorities said around 10:20 p.m., deputies J. Verdell and J. Wilson received reports of a person not breathing.

When they arrived at the location, they found an 82-year-old man who was not breathing.
Authorities confirmed that the victim suffered a cardiac arrest at the time of the incident.
The deputies immediately began life-saving efforts with an AED and performed CPR until Rockdale Fire and Rescue arrived.

“We applaud these deputies for staying calm and using their training, knowledge, and experience to render the necessary aid to save a life,” officials wrote on Facebook.
After a brief stay at a local hospital, the 82-year-old man is back home with his wife and is alive and well, according to authorities.
