Professional soccer player charged with rape in DeKalb

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A visiting professional soccer player is accused of raping a woman in DeKalb County.

Brookhaven police charged Bryan Joshua Arguez, 24, with one count of rape.

Arguez, a member of the Carolina RailHawks, was in town to play the Atlanta Silverbacks and spent the night at a friend's home on Aug. 11, according to police.

Police spokesman Lt. Brandon Gurley said Arguez went to a club with a teammate and two other women and returned to the home where he assaulted one of those women.

The victim called 911 and police arrested Arguez at the home, Gurley said.

Arguez is being held in the DeKalb County Jail on $75,000 bond.

The Atlanta Silverbacks and the Carolina RailHawks are members of the North American Soccer League.
