POLK COUNTY, Ga. — A woman said she was beaten by a man who followed her home in an alleged road-rage incident in Polk County.
“I possibly could have died and my son possibly could never had a mother,” Brittney Yarbrough said.
Yarbrough has two broken fingers and a bruised chest day after she says a man beat her in a road-rage incident in Polk County.
“I can’t hold my son. My son is 16 months old, he just wants to hold his momma, but I can’t hold him,” she said.
Yarbrough said it all started at Live Oak Road. She said she first pulled out in front of a speeding driver who aggressively tailed her than two miles to her house.
“I went to get over and I guess he revved up and he was coming over and he hit me,” Yarbrough said.
She showed Channel 2’s Matt Johnson the damage to her car .
They were on Collard Valley Road when she said the man got out of his car and started hitting her with his fists.
“He threw me in the ditch, hitting me on top of the head, the face, wherever he could hit me,” she said.
Dylan Yarbrough, Brittney’s husband, and his cousin were nearby and chased the man as he sped off, but lost track of the car, they said.
When Dylan Yarbrough found out what happened, he said he used social media to post a vehicle description he got from his wife.
“I put a [$500] reward out on Facebook and it started getting shared,” he said.
The couple hopes someone recognizes the car before someone else gets hurt.
“What if he does it again? What if there's another woman?” Brittney Yarbrough said.
The Polk County Sheriff's Department is on the lookout for a 1993 Honda Accord coupe with passenger-side damage.
Yarbrough said that while she was being attacked, there was a woman and a baby in his car calling for him.
