POLK COUNTY, Ga. — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Polk County they say involved an officer being run over.
Polk County police officers were investigating a man driving a four-wheeler when he drove off into the woods. Since they weren’t able to find him, they requested assistance from the Cedartown Police Department.

While officers were setting up a perimeter around Cedar Oak Way, the driver, later identified as 31-year-old Taylor McGhee, came out of the woods on his four-wheeler and ran over a Cedartown officer.
Officers from both departments began shooting at McGhee, but he drove away on the four-wheeler. He was found and arrested a short time later.
Officers noticed McGhee had been shot during the initial incident and he was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and later released.

The officer who was run over suffered minor abrasions.
McGhee was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of tools for the commission of a crime and booked into the Polk County Jail.
