CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Jonesboro police say a woman was dragged into a car against her will outside a motel Sunday.
According to police, it happened at the Motel 6 off Southside Commercial Parkway. Police say witnesses saw it happen and called 911, giving police a description of the car.
Jonesboro police were able to find the car and pull it over just four miles away. Police say they found the victim inside.
"I saw the vehicle drive by and I did a U-turn, followed the vehicle and made a traffic stop where it was safe for myself and the victim as well," said Officer Cornell Madison with the Jonesboro Police Department.
Police say the victim was inside with four females and one male.
Police identified the suspects as Kyneisha Norman, 32, Shataya Durham, 17, Jasmine McCloud, Davel Locker, 17, and Teona Willis, 34. They are each facing kidnapping charges. Police say a gun was also found in the car, so there could be more charges.
Police said the woman had bites marks on her body at the time she was found. She is described as a 21-year-old white female but police did not release her identity.
They said the kidnapping is in relation to prostitution and possible sex trafficking.
Kidnapping victim speaks out
The victim of Sunday’s kidnapping spoke only to Channel 2’s Liz Artz.
She asked that we conceal her identity but showed Artz the bite marks, scratches and bruises from her alleged abductors.
“They scratched me, hit me on my head, I have marks on my hands,” she said. "I hope they don't pull a gun out and kill me. I hope they don't knock me out where I can't remember anything."
Police thought the motive was prostitution or sex trafficking, but the victim tells us the terrifying incident was all about her two children, who are 3 and 6 years old. She says Norman, the alleged ringleader, has temporary custody of her daughters.
“You're going to get right for your kids. You need to get your stuff together. They weren't asking for no type of ransom,” the victim told Artz. “She was saying I was ungrateful. I was saying negative things threatening her and her daughter’s life. I did not threaten her or her daughter’s life," said the victim.
Sunday night the five accused remained in jail, the victim was home from the hospital and her children remain in the home of the alleged ring leader.
“I'm trying to get my stuff together,” the victim told Artz. “I'm trying to do right and get my kids."
