• Police: Brother, sister died in I-75 crash in Morrow

MORROW, Ga. - Morrow police say two people, a brother and sister, have died from injuries in a I-75 crash in Clayton County.

The accident happened about 11 a.m. Monday. The victims, Savannah Guio Hayter and Steven Mack, had stopped their vehicle in the gore area of the entrance ramp to I-75 northbound from Jonesboro Road  to change a flat tire.

Police told Channel 2's Tom Jones that a SUV was coming down the ramp and struck the brother and sister. Hayter died at the scene. Mack, who was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition, later died from his injuries.

Police said the driver who hit the siblings is cooperating with authorities.

The accident led to a six-vehicle wreck that shut down several northbound lanes for several hours.

Investigators said they anticipate filing charges against the driver.
