LAGRANGE, Ga. — A man has died after police said he was struck by a train in Troup County.

Around 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, LaGrange Police were called to the railroad tracks at McGee Street and Addie Street in LaGrange.
Police said a man, later identified as William Stargell, was lying next to the tracks unresponsive.

LaGrange officials said that officers tried life-saving measures, but were not successful.
Due to Stargell’s injuries, authorities determined that he was hit by a train.
