COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Police are investigating a serious crash in Smyrna Monday morning that sent four people to the hospital.
According to Channel 2's Sophia Choi at the scene, a Mazda RX8 left Windy Hill Road and traveled on the sidewalk onto an embankment before flying over Atlanta Road. The car then hit an SUV and a box truck waiting at a red light.
Four people were taken to the hospital. Three adults were transported to WellStar Kennestone Regional Medical Center. At least one was listed in critical condition. One child was taken to Children's at Egleston Pediatric Hospital.
The driver of the Mazda that flew was not injured. He has since been charged with reckless driving.
