• Police arrest suspect in slaying outside billiards hall

SANDY SPRINGS - Sandy Springs police say they have arrested a suspect in the shooting death of a Lithonia man outside a billiards hall.

Andrae Dinkens, 31, was arrested Friday. He’s accused of gunning down 36-year-old Ellis Blue on Sept. 15 as he and his wife left Morgan Falls Billiards on Roswell Road.

Capt. Steve Rose said Blue and the suspect had exchanged words over the suspect hitting on his wife.

Rose said there were about 20-25 people outside of the club because it was closing.

Police said Blue recently moved to Atlanta from the Chicago area and worked in security and as a painter at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Dinkens was charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, among other charges.
