FOREST PARK, Ga.,None — A missing piece of insulation was the key to catching an alleged Peeping Tom, according to workers at the Georgia State Farmer's Market.
Police say 33-year-old Samuel Brito was caught peering into the women's restroom at a private business inside the Forest Park facility.
Brito, a 12-year employee of Sunbelt Produce, was looking through a hole and watching his co-workers, according to company's owner.
"I'm the one that caught him," Sunbelt Produce owner Cliff Sherman told Channel 2's Tom Jones.
Sherman said his female employees suspected someone was spying on them through a hole in the bathroom wall and they put insulation in the hole, but someone kept removing it.
The women came up with a plan and they were instructed to call the owner when someone saw the insulation removed from the hole.
On Wednesday, a woman called Sherman and he immediately went to the adjacent room and caught Brito squatting near the hole.
"We caught him peeping. We did our job. We dismissed him. We called the police," Sherman said. He told Jones this has never happened before.
"That's why we dealt with it swiftly, accurately and had the police involved," he said.
Clayton County Magistrate Judge Beatriz Scott set Brito's bond at $4,000.
"Your bond has special conditions that you not return to the Atlanta State Farmer's Market," she said.
A family friend of Brito's said he was in the room completing construction and didn't spy on anyone. Workers at the produce company said the bathroom wasn't accessible to the public.
