ATLANTA — The Road to Hire is looking for talented young people in the Atlanta metro area to introduce to coding.
Coding is just one of the areas of the tech industry that is desperately looking for young minds and emerging talent.
The program is especially reaching out to the underrepresented demographics in the tech world. They are looking to introduce high school/ GED graduates to a non-traditional option to high-earning tech careers.
This is the first time the program is expanding beyond its Charlotte, North Carolina base.
The Road to Hire is offering paid six-month bootcamp-style coding apprenticeships in Atlanta.
Successful applicants are paid while training and graduates can earn full-time positions with employers like Bank of America and Red Ventures. Graduates that are hired by these companies can expect starting salaries of at least $50,000 with benefits.
Applications for the program are now open but close on August 22. The actual training will begin in October for about 100 students.
“The power of Road to Hire to invest in and build the next generation of tech professionals cannot be quantified. The apprenticeship, along with the mentorship and support, helped me tap into my own potential and build my confidence in a field I never thought possible,” said 2020 graduate Vanessa Baker.
Baker is now a software engineer for Bank of America.
The Road to Hire touts its success in Charlotte, where it started.

The program’s expansion into Atlanta will hopefully provide similar opportunities for the young people in this city.
“Now, more young adults will be able to take hold of their future and achieve the economic justice that has long been lacking in our most vulnerable communities,” said Executive Director Kacey Grantham.
