SANDY SPRINGS — While it may be clear, sunny and hot Wednesday morning, drivers or at least cars on Powers Ferry Road in Sandy Springs are getting a bit of a shower.

Sandy Springs police are on the scene of a car versus fire hydrant crash at Powers Ferry Road and Dudley Lane where a driver crashed into and knocked over a hydrant at the intersection.

It’s quite the gusher as police have closed one lane of southbound traffic while fire and rescue department works to get the hydrant shut down.
