COVINGTON, Ga. — Covington police say they have a man in custody after an hours-long standoff with officers.
Investigators said they were in the process of returning a juvenile suspect to their parents when police came across three people standing in a nearby yard.
As the officers went by, two of the three individuals ran off. Police caught one of the individuals and the second individual got away.

The third individual, said to be armed with a gun, ran into a nearby house on Emory Street, and refused to leave for several hours Wednesday evening.
Officers later identified that man as Jody Allen Reid, 30, from Oxford.
Police said Reid already had a warrant out for his arrest.
Officers said they found drugs and stolen guns in the yard of the home where the men ran from.
The man came out of the house just before 10 p.m. and was taken into custody.
