NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. — Police are working to learn how a kidnapped 61-year-old ended up at the hospital.
Newton County investigators say she was taken from the parking lot of a Kroger grocery store on Highway 20.
The Newton County Sheriff's Office told Channel 2's Audrey Washington that Brenda Thompson's husband walked into the Kroger pharmacy in Covington shortly after 11 a.m. Monday.
They said when the husband went back outside his Lincoln sedan was gone, with his wife inside.
Deputies searched all afternoon for Thompson, who is unable to drive and was described as medically fragile.
Shortly after 4 p.m. Monday, investigators said Thompson was found at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Officials told Washington that no one is in custody and that they are still searching for Thompson's Lincoln sedan.
Anyone with information in this case is asked to call the Newton County Shieriff's Office.
