BUTTS COUNTY, Ga. — The National Weather Service has confirmed that at least five tornadoes touched down in Georgia during strong storms last week.

Three people in Georgia were killed, including a 5-year-old boy, during the storms on Thursday. The child, Egan Jeffcoat, was killed when a tree fell on his mother’s car in Butts County.

A 32-year-old lineman, Jesse Maxwell, was working on a bucket truck in Jasper County when a limb snapped back and hit him in the head, killing him. A GDOT worker in Walker County was also killed. The employee, who hasn’t been identified, was trying to remove a fallen tree from the road in Lafayette when the tree shifted and landed on the worker.

On Monday, the NWS added two more confirmed tornadoes to the list, bringing the total to five. They are as follows:
- An EF-1 in Cobb County
- An EF-2 in Meriwether, Pike and Spalding counties
- An EF -1 in southwest Spalding County
- An EF-2 in northwest Troup County
- An EF-1 in Warren and McDuffie counties
