• Motorcyclist killed in I-20 crash


    DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. - A Grady Hospital EMT was killed in a motorcycle crash, right after he got off work early Sunday.

    The incident happened at about 5 a.m. at I-20 west, near Lee Road in Douglas County.

    Police said 37-year-old Jason Dale Strickland, of Bremen, was hit from behind by a drunk driver.

    Strickland thrown from his Harley Davidson into the center lane, where he was struck by several vehicles, including a tractor trailer, police said.

    The driver of the Honda Element that hit Strickland, 33-year-old Francisco Ferrer, of Dallas, has been charged with vehicular homicide and DUI.

    Police said he may receive more charges once the investigation is complete.
