ATLANTA — The threat of severe storms is making its way to metro Atlanta.
The scattered rain we have seen throughout the metro will last into Tuesday ahead of a front that is producing severe storms, according to Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Glenn Burns.

Temperatures will remain above normal Tuesday, with low-to-mid 60s across the metro, even low 70s farther south by LaGrange.
Burns said to expect some spotty showers for the morning commute Tuesday, and it will be fairly dry throughout the day with a mostly cloudy sky.
Overnight, however, things are expected to change.

Burns said isolated severe storms will move in overnight Tuesday into early Wednesday morning.
The main threat for most the western part of the metro is damaging winds and heavy rains.
“Tomorrow night into Wednesday morning, the winds are going to be howling across northern Georgia,” Burns said, with winds expected to reach 15-25 mph.

Areas around Heard, Haralson, Carroll, Troup and Meriwether counties are in the greatest risk area to see severe storms with isolated tornadoes possible.
“We’ll be here, of course, to keep you informed every step of the way,” Burns said.
Things begin to clear out Thursday with a much nicer start of your weekend, with sun and low-to-mid 50s by the weekend.
